The proposed refurbishment will include: insulating the walls and roof space,
new external Oak cladding, new doors and windows, new fire exits, a new gas
fired heating and hot water system, a new kitchen, new electrics and lighting,
a sound system and a loop system, removal of the existing stage, upgrading
the existing WC’s, putting in new surface water drainage and new gutters and
downpipes, resurfacing the existing car park and making a disabled parking
bay, a new disabled ramp and automatic opening entrance doors, together
with redecoration throughout.
The proposed extensions will provide much needed additional storage space
and will see the addition of a new, more accessible entrance area. The
proposed entrance lobby will also allow the existing internal layout to be
altered to make better use of the internal space.
It is intended as part of the alterations/refurbishment, to insulate the building
as best as can be achieved. To avoid cold bridging, the best method of
insulating the building will be to insulate the walls on their outer face, this will
mean that the insulation material will need to be clad over, it is intended to
clad the outer walls in Green Oak boarding, the Green Oak boarding will be
left to ‘silver out’.
This is an impression of what the outside of the hall will look like when complete.
This floorplan shows the improved layout with better storage and more space in the hall.
Improvements will be done in three phases and will be started when our fund raising allows.
